Scandinavia has plenty of options for couples looking for a snowy honeymoon destination. Norway, Sweden and Finland all have their share of popular ski resorts as well as options for more remote destinations. The climate in Scandinavia lends itself to long cold snowsure winters, while this may sound like a nightmare to some of you the winter wonderland and the romance of destinations such as Lapland can make a perfect honeymoon for some.
Lapland in winter is not for the feint hearted, the temperatures do stay well below zero and it is not uncommon for it to drop below -30°C. These temperatures are however suprisingly bearable due to the dryness of the air in the Arctic, as long as you have adequate base layers it will not be a problem. The low temperatures in Lapland just add to the magic with the snow hotels, igloos and ice chapels that are built every winter giving the region a very romantic feel.
Less Common Destinations
While destinations such as Iceland, Greenland, Alaska and Antarctica are among the more unusual honeymoon destinations they do have a lot to offer. They all have their fair share of dramatic scenery adventurous tour options and of course Snow.
